Our Kemer Culture House is an urban memory that was designed with the contributions of Kemer Municipality and reconstructed to the area where the building previously used as a Gendarmerie Police Station was located on Münir Özkul Liman Caddesi and opened to the service of our people.
The first construction year of the building was 1968. It was revealed by a letter left in the brick by a soldier working during the construction of the Gendarmerie Police Station and revealed during the renovation.
Our Kemer Culture House, which will host our esteemed guests as a cultural feast from the past to the future, consists of two parts. In the first part; It is devoted to Gunnery Captain Mustafa Ertuğrul AKER, who sank the ships Paris-2 and Alexandra, which blockaded the Mediterranean coast in the First World War, with his military genius. In this section; Mustafa Ertuğrul AKER's own memories, the war binoculars entrusted to Ramazan KAR personally by his daughter, the oil paintings he painted of Antalya and its surroundings, the memories of the comrades-in-arms he fought with at that time, the photographs that have witnessed history and all of them are almost historical documents will be included. In addition, Colonel Mehmet Şefik Aker, who was first the commander of Mustafa Ertuğrul AKER and then his father-in-law, was also included. Mehmet Şefik AKER served as the commander of the 27th. Regiment in the Dardanelles Front of the First World War and showed significant achievements in the victory of the National Struggle. Mehmet Şefik AKER's memories that tell about those periods and shed light on our history are also exhibited in our House of Culture. There are also the decrees of Gazi Mustafa Kemal ATATURK related to the mines operating in Kemer in 1932 and 1933, the original Lecture work published in 1927, the library to be used by researchers and students, and the letter and medal given by the 2nd Abdulhamit to Bannerbearer Commander Murat Ağa.
